I believe all of the goings on simply bring SAfrica to int'l norm on resource exploitation.

it's funny how everyone views the rest of the world as more risky places to invest. a few months ago I heard Marc Faber interviewed and he said if he were to just buy one gold stock it would be HMY. (He acknowledged that a friend of his ran it.) I'm not quite done with his new book, tomorrow's gold, but the emphasis clearly is that the popular/desirable/safe (choose your word) places to invest change over time and the US is clearly on the downhill slope. the interview made me go out and add to my HMY position. it also made me less worried about my other SA positions in GFI and DROOY. who knows, at some point the SA miners may carry a premium <g/ng>
