Yes. You will be very disappointed, indeed, if Bush's popularity is maintained. ANYTHING for the political victory, right? Wouldn't you just love a Vietnam-styled quagmire? You and Daschle could just be in liberal heaven together.

What I want is a more apt leader for this country. Given the standard set by Bush, that shouldn't be hard.

What I want is a more apt leader for this country. Given the standard set by Bush, that shouldn't be hard to pull off.

The bottom line is that, although Bush has taken us into an immensely unpopular war, the economy is in the dumper, and Democrat obstructionism is at an all-time high, he is still immensely popular; in fact, he pretty much has been popular throughout his presidency thus far. How can this be?

He wasn't popular until after 9/11. Up til last week, his ratings were sinking towards 50%. There has been what I suspect is a temporary pop in his ratings due to the rally-around-the-flag phenomenom. Thanks to this president, this nation is badly divided, pitting friend against friend, family member against family member.

I have said this before and I say it again........good is not likely to come out of such negativity. This will be Bush's legacy to us.
