Just heard this bit of (as yet unconfirmed) news on the television... US forces had sent drone spy planes over known Iraqi military positions in the southern parts of Iraq. Reports says that many Iraqi soldiers attempted to surrender to the drone planes, not knowing that the planes were unmanned and unarmed... If true, a sad commentary on the Iraqi military. One even feels some empathy with these underfed, underequipped, undertrained, and unappreciated Iraqi soldiers. Let's hope that they're taken as prisoners of war rather than sacrificed for the sport of war. A new start for these unfortunate people rather than more bloodshed... KJC
