There were other sources on Irving, but I figured you'd get the most out of one from the ADL. Honoring Hefner reflected poor judgment. But a lot of Jews are quite liberal and the influence of such liberals within the organization probably produced that award. The past and present high percentage of liberalism among Jews will likely change over time as the left becomes increasingly more hostile to Jews. The presence of Lieberman on the ticket in the last election may have cost Gore the presidency. That's my opinion anyway. My reasoning here is that some leftists reacted to the presence of a Orthodox Jew (or Zionsit as they would say) on the ticket by casting their vote for Nader.
