I saw them. I gather you can see I disagree.

I have little doubt the French have economic interests in Iraq. But I do disagree that their only motives are those. I can only go back to my earlier statements that they are no different from other great powers in this instance--multiple motives. I would expect there are some more important than others but I see no way for any of us on this thread to know with any certainty just how the present French government might rank those.

Re: the French - remember, the US is allied with the Brits, and the Brits have been fighting the French for centuries. Maybe they just like to be contrary, like the Yugoslavians.
