On the contrary I have admiration for the Americans who died in the cause and they turned the tide - but what I object to is the lack of acknowledgement of the millions and millions of other soldiers who laid down their arms - the civilians who died in the bombing - the arrogant assumption that America somehow did it all on its own. That is what is disgusting and insensitive. And you'll forgive me for bringing up the civilians - Europeans had great sympathy after 9/11 - but raised more than an eyebrow when America behaved as if only they suffer - especially when terrorism is a fact of life for them - IRA, Algiers, Basques and so on. It's the opressive feeling that only American lives count.
