It seems that going into Iraq is more difficult this time for obvious reasons that we probably ignored.

Last time, the Iraqi forces were on the run and easy target practice as they were fleeing Kuwait. This time they were more prepared to defend; have dug in their heels it seems. Shelling US forces in Iraq and the chemical worry also a problem as it seems to worry the soldiers and is a distraction from normal combat.
That is why it is so important to get them to surrender instead of fight.

The other interesting thing is that so far I have not heard Iraq claim to have shot down lots of US planes. This lack of BS that I was expecting, is a bit scary. They seem to want to appear to focus on reporting accurately it seems...at least without the obvious BS claims. If this was last time, they would have already have claimed to have shot down most of the US fighter jets.

All this is very consistant with the idea that the war will take longer than some believe as noted by Bush. That is not good; I hope they are able to go in with easy but I am now a bit more concerned. The Iraqi army might be waiting in trenches and this would require a lot more airpower before taking over towns.
