A yellow turd. Like Al Gore..

Right on. The only reason he "enlisted" was because his father was in the midst of a difficult re-election and Al's original idea of going to Canada(his college buddies, interviewed on TV, stated he discussed this very strongly with them) would have sounded the death knell for his re-election. When he entered Nam in January he was assigned a 'handler' by the general in charge of that area. His guard, a well known journalist, also interviewed on TV, stated he was asked by the general, whom he knew, to keep Al out of trouble and the journalist stated " he wasn't about to give his life for Al but he would watch him". Strangely the outfit Gore was assigned to was mustered out of 'Nam in early May of the same year giving big Al a total of 4 mos. 'in country' most of which was spent in downtown Saigon.
