Solectron to layoff 12,000, take $300 million charge (SLR) By Rex Crum
Electronics-manufacturing company Solectron (SLR) said it would shed 12,000 jobs and take $300 million in restructing charges in the next several quarters as it seeks to reduce its cost structure. CEO Mike Cannon said most of the job cuts would come result from the company eliminating and consolidating manufacturing facilities in North America and Europe.
