Wish I had bought the Amazon illusion when it was near $5 in October, 2001. ; )

I remain,

SOROS

p.s. Look at the Ebay illusion. That can't be 22 times sales. What a magic trick!

not all delusions are deeply engrained or widely believed
heck, some I dont think are pervasive at all
at least not now

they are delusions, not illusions
subtle difference

illusion: false perception of reality, misconception
delusion: a false conviction held in the face of invalidating facts, characteristic of some mental disorders

i.e. wrong thinking given the facts and background
mine are almost all beliefs that go contrary to the evidence

I wanted to list all the delusions I have detected
some are thin, like the public not expecting any terrorist retaliations
I think many do expect retaliation

I like your TOHOEism
in the past years, all too well the concept of hope is linked with large losses
whether in stocks, or business plans, or girlfriend future

thanks / jim

p.s. a friend in Moscow (hi Pat) said in a phone conversation over the weekend to check you out, read a few of your posts
and coincidentally, for the first time I can remember, you send me a post !!!
