Daschle takes a lot of heat but he's a good decent All-American guy. He's also shown he can take the heat. After Kerry he would be the strongest democratic candidate for Prez if he were running. But I dont know if he could beat Bush. You need to walk tall and carry a big stick to beat Bush. Daschle is too soft-spoken.

Bush is going to run on swagger, pro-American slogans, flags waving and military accomplishment (despite his own personal military record). Kerry is the only one who can take much of that away from him in a very real way. Like the Bushie vet I spoke with today who might vote for Kerry because he admires him so much (despite leaning liberal). And if Kerry can get McCain as his running mate Bush is history.
