a few historical tidbits:

* When Baghdad was captured from the Turks by the British at the end of WWI, out of a population of 202,000 there were 80,000 Jews.


Thank you Nadine. I found that particularly interesting in light of where the Jews came from.
During the time of the book of Daniel. The Jews had been (punished by God) overthrown by Baghdad. They were taken as slaves to Baghdad. This was the greatest times of Baghdad. The times of the great Hanging Gardens, etc. As the years passed, the King of Baghdad gave the Jews the right to go back to Israel. Many of them had managed to prosper. Established roots, and liked their worldly lives there. Only a minority went back to Jerusalem.
