Clappy, let me put in my two cents worth.

I was a leftenant in Uncle Sam's biggest (Army) during the Vietnam thing. Had a guided missile battery in Korea and made the trip over there and back twice. Both times took me through San Francisco and if you don't remember, that city was the epicenter of the peace movement.

On both trips, I spent at least 24 hours in S.F. and wore (had to, didn't have anything else) my uniform all the time. And no, I didn't feel bad about the cat calls, because I knew my job was to make sure they (the peace demonstrators) could shout and taunt to their heart's desire.

In short, I knew they were doing their thing and many knew I was doing mine.

No big deal.
