Allow my to show pride. CCNY was a tuition-free college for academically qualified students. It has produced more Nobel Prize winners than any other college, and the second number of graduates who go on to Ph.D.'s. Among my class members were Colin Powell and Andy Grove (Chair of Intel).
CCNY was, in addition, the only basketball team to win both the NCAA and the NIT. However, that was followed by the Dump-the scandal that points were shaved

However, academically that changed during the student unrest of, I believe, the '60's when open admission, rather than admission by merit, became the criteria. CCNY once again, after Giuliani, is having standards.

BTW-- My fantasy is having Guliani as Attorney General instead of that nerd Ashcroft.
