Or would you have said that, say, British troops should have mowed down Ghandi, or the Alabama state police should have taken out MLK whenever they chose, since, after all, he was protesting the "Southern" way, Greenpeace style?

No, you are exercising the politics of self-interest without regard for principle. She did not "put" her body under that bulldozer. That woman was having a conversation with the driver of that bulldozer before he ran her over. "Losing track of her" was not possible.
