The Perot/McCain "middle" is like the old mule that a farmer was trying to sell to a local rube. After he described at length that the mule would always do what's necessary "a long as you are gentle and kind to him", he picked up a 2 by 4 and nailed the mule as hard as he could right between the eyes. The rube gasped and said, "What about being 'gentle and kind'?" To which the farmer responded, "But you've got to get his ATTENTION first."...
