That the surge in the markets has to do with the surging confidence that the public has in the policies of the Bush administration? Heaven forbid that Bush was right that the world will be a better place without thugs and tyrants. The most telling part of the statement, "something very profound and very UGLY about......" our system is the ease at which is rolls off the fingertips of some. I've heard it for years from those who don't have the patience to work within the system. They want to block traffic or burn flags, while the majority grows their food and fixes their stoves. Democracy and capitalism are works in progress. Neither is perfect, just as the humans who created it! You can point to all kinds of faults in the system: violence on TV and in the movies, constant solicitation of porn via email, the proliferation of guns, gangs in the city, crooked cops, drugs, rampant lawsuits, overcrowed jails and courts, unemployment, sexual harrassment, mentally ill roaming the streets, the rampant theft of music, video, software through "sharing" on the internet, rocketing health care costs, etc. etc. The question is how do you change this system? It's much easier to complain about it then to do anything to fix it. The FACT is there is a way to fix it. It's called your VOTE. Americans don't give a crap enough to vote....on average. Who's problem is that? All I know is there is no better system on earth. Maybe that's a sad statement to some, but think of a better place on earth? The US feeds the world. We do more commerce than any place on earth. We provide OPPORTUNITIES for more people to rise from poverty. People all around the world want to come here! Why? Because this is the best place on EARTH to live.
