Half of Davis's debt is due to the Texas oil ripoffs. But yes, beside that he wasn't fiscally conservative either. But now he has to be and therefore is. Bush should be now but isn't. No double standard there. I criticize them both for this, but Bush's deficits are much larger. California is 1/7th of the country. Subtract the energy ripoffs and Califnroia is better off that the nation as a whole. And California's debt is the same as Texas's, the GOP being in power there.
