Nice theory. But which Iraquis? Some will, some won't. The Iraquis dancing in the streets at the US liberation will probably favor us staying for awhile to protect them against remnants of Saddam's forces. The loyalists will tell us to get out.

There will be no government in place to represent the people. Those former officials still in place, like the ambassador to the UN, can't speak for the people. So who do you ask? Invite Nielsen in to take a poll??

Your answer is great in theory. But impossible in practice.
