We will be reading some "after action" reports from these people that will almost be embarrassing in their praise of our guys.

That could well be the case but you also need to remember that these "embedded" journalists, if everyone is to be believed, are on the cutting edges of the conflict. Those troops generally have a different view of the military leadership than the leadership has of itself. And such views don't, necessarily, get improved in times of war; generally goes the opposite direction. So, beware of what you wish.
