Baghdad is not going to be bombed into oblivion. The central palace is on fire, the headquarters of the Secret Police and the Republican Guard are rubble.

The rest of the city is standing and the lights are still on. When the Americans roll in, Baghdad will be very much standing. Government buildings will be destroyed.

After all, western reporters are still reporting from the Al Rashid hotel, aren't they? Have they been bombed into oblivion?

I WROTE: I'm worried about Bush will make good on his threat to bomb Baghdad into oblivion

And it turned out to be something that didn't happen, Karen. We used "smart Bombs" to knock out the Military HQ in Baghdad, and nothing else.

1) Didja notice we are still getting TV pictures live from Downtown Baghdad?

2) Didja notice that the street lights are still on? Didja notice that the Iraqi info Minister that gave the reporters of the damage took them to one of Saddam's Palaces? Not to some baby hospital?

2) Didja notice that he said nothing about any Civilian Casualties?

3) Didja notice that the Iraqi Civilians in Basra cheered their liberation by our troops?

Everything bad you have been predicting has not happened, Karen. I hope the anti-war demonstrators keep it up in this country. Every demonstration means more votes for the right in the next election.

YOU WROTE:Bush has never made any such threat. Don't be absurd.

DON'T BE ABSURD???!!!!! You're such a ....OPERATION: IRAQI FREEDOM
'Shock and awe'
campaign starts
Coalition forces bombard Baghdad,
northern cities in massive air attack

And yet the power is still on, the water is still running, for the average citizen life is essentially unaffected. What is being bombed are the military and government sites. This is not Hiroshima or Nagasaki or Dresden.
