No, not internationally entitled, but might do it anyway and take the international consequences.

Luckily the present regime might not last forever, but as is the case in 2-party systems, the same might
happen again, often kind of every other or third election.

It would be sad if USA would revert back to a three institution, one-party system as it is at the present.

I suggest you read the UN charter (which the US has SIGNED) first, but only after you look up the definition of "sovereignty" - i.e. something to do with internal affairs and not foreign affairs.
