By the way, have you notice how quiet the boards are. I think the last 5 or 6 months has wiped out 50% of the traders

The trading genius Jesse Livermore, after having experienced huge ups and downs, eventually wrote a note declaring his whole life to be a failure, and committed suicide – broke.

We all read his book, and we know that we would not commit many of his mistakes, that we practice money management, we protect ourselves… We think we can do what he did – make money in the markets (maybe not as much) – and avoid repeating his mistakes.

Yes, we can do it – if we are smart, intuitive, disciplined, objective and cool at all times, contrarian but not stubborn... and of course, we have to be relatively unperturbed by greed and fear. Did I leave anything out? Oh yeah, we are also not allowed to indulge into any fantasies, like becoming wealthy from trading. It may happen, but to feel pressured to achieve it might be the kiss of death. Any other suggestions for nearly impossible pre-requirements?

All we need to do is manage to take away money from other traders, as well as from all those institutional dudes, with all their training, experience and resources…

Shouldn’t be all that hard, huh?...
