Cha2,

"The investable product category" is mobile wireless.
Qualcomm is the Gorilla of CDMA within that, no?

In the context of Moore's use of product category, my thinking is that CDMA is a product category but mobile wireless is not. Mobile wireless encompasses a host of product categories.

Paul Jacobs on Wireless Videoconferencing

At CTIA Wireless 2003 last week, while Dad was taking on Wi-Fi, Paul Jacobs of Qualcomm took a shot at wireless videoconferencing, once a hot contender for killer app status:

"The ergonomics of videoconferencing don't
work --the camera looks right up your nose."

On this matter Paul and I couldn't be more in agreement.

Suspect I know what Merlin thinks.

Paul said the killer app is choice--the freedom to customize your phone and services for yourself (a plug for BREW).
