Yes, not a single right-wing leader has served in combat. Yet they claim the credit for sending others into war. It is also smart to give credit to those who dont jump into war.

War is sometimes necessary but extremely risky. No one knows the costs. We can beat up an easy foe like Saddam, this time but next time it may not be so easy. One lucky shot with a WMD may wipe out 20,000 of our people. Now we know Saddam has no such capability, at last it's becoming apparent. But if Bush knew how weak Saddam was, he certainly wasn't telling us. Listenbing to Bushies you'd think Saddam was Hitler about to take over the Middle East. Far from it. He would have been lucky just to stay in power another 5-10 years.

That said, so long as Bush decides he must take Saddam out, get it over with. Despite the idiot who accused "liberals like me" for prolonging Saddam's existence, I have always told this thread that if Bush is serious he should have sent in the bunker busters 9 months ago. Instead he wasted 9 months of the world's time. And this wek's stock markeyt rally only begins to give us back some of the trillion bucks we've lost in equity during those 9 months of debate and divisiveness. In short, it was irresponsible. Reagan would have just gone in and bombed. Not pretended he wanted UN support. Bush never did. If he really had he would have gotten it. But they dont want to share the oil or the glory. Not a chance.
