I understand he has two sons also. One is apparently in charge of the Republican Guard. That is why I would expect such a plan to be in place. He wouldn't need to hold power for long to execute such a plan. A phone call could do it. It does look like disarray. At any rate, irrespective of my feelings on the war I don't want to see a catastrophe and like everyone am waiting hopefully for a quick resolution with as little loss of life as possible in these circumstances.
