Enough already, as they say in NYC, with the vituperative stuff.

As for Hitchens, if you read that last essay of his you posted, it's quite clear he hasn't "broken with the left". Rather he has taken serious exception to the arguments against an Iraqi invasion and gone his own way. But, that last article and that debate you also posted for me to read suggests that Hitchens has not done a political lobotomy.

As for the quote you extract about deontological and consequential, it's damn apparent from the text precisely what he means.
