Although the rockets, one of which injured two guards at an oil refinery depot, were blamed on U.S. fighter pilots engaged in attacks on southern Iraq, Iranian officials privately acknowledge the missiles could well have come from Iraqi forces trying to bring the U.S. jets down, diplomats said in Tehran.

at any rate, the US is checking into it and will apologize and make it right if it was ours.

You are wrong on both counts. As to precision weapons only about 10% of those dropped in 1st gulf war were precision where as nearly ALL are now, as to Iran, its since been shown that was an inaccurate Iraqui rocket.
Now, do I agree with our going overboard to avoid civilian casualties? NO, I DO NOT. We are taking a GREAT RISK leaving large Iraqui forces undestroyed in our rear as we march toward Bagdad. This is being done so as to not have to shell the cities to level the forces defenses. I of course am opposed to killing Civilians, but if the Iraquis are going to use them as shields I see no other choice if we wish to keep OUR servicemen safe from unneccessary risk. jdn
