Why is France getting special treatment especially since they are one of our longest allies...

Because France WAS one of our longest allies. I started a personal boycott of all French goods and thought I was alone. Just heard millions of Americans are actually doing likewise and that it is hurting the French. May the French be reduced to eating grubs. Course, knowing the French they likely are already eating grubs and calling them a friggin' delicacy. (grin)

France seems to have taken special delight in opposing America, based on Chirac's recent comments. It is believed that Russia and China would not have vetoed a UN sanction of this war if France hadn't been so vocal. Additionally, France's duplicity is apparent. They not only want to protect their business interests while turning a blind eye to the evil of Saddam, they also have allegedly been supplying Iraq with stuff that makes him more dangerous.

France placed herself in this position. Time to lie in that bed.
