Max, I have no crystal ball. I hve an idea how things might turn out but I could be totally wrong. What implications do you see that are so bad that you would prefer Saddam's regime to be opposed by weak non functional efforts such as sanctions and inspections?

On the good hearts comment, I agree. And although I disagree with the protesters, I think the protests serve a god purpose in that Bush and Rumsfeld and Blair etc have had it made very clear to them that a lot of people in the world do not approve. As such, they have to be very careful how they conduct this war. This is good and it could even turn out that the protesters by their actions save a lot of lives.
