Well to be fair, the WMDs and chemical/biological weapons are supposed to be centered around baghdad, and we haven't made it there yet. Especially in that unfinished subway downtown... there is supposed to be lots of stuff stored there.

But if we go into baghdad and we DON'T find WMDs, then the diplomatic position of the US wrt the world will be damaged for years to come. We will be perceived exactly like Russia used to be, in the eyes of most of the world.

Hi Kenneth,

I'll tell you where they are. They are in Syria and Lebanon. Right at the beginning of the resumption of inspections, U.S. satellites noted Iraqi convoys heading to the borders with Syria and Lebanon. They weren't heading that way to have a cup of tea with old friends. They were moving prohibited weapons. Very much in the same way that they gave Iran many of their fighters to avoid having them destroyed in the first Gulf War. This time they unloaded their WMD stockpiles in Syria and Lebanon. So it is very possible they were indeed telling the truth when they repeatedly said there were no WMD in Iraq.

So if we don't find anything in Iraq, it won't surprise me. You know, when the circumstantial evidence becomes so overwhelming and every sign starts to point in the same direction, at some point you have to let common sense take over. It's amazing to me how many Americans have lost their common sense when it comes to Saddam.
