I was in Quebec for the first referendum vote (I am from SF and was visiting a friend up there who is an anglophone)- what a wild ride that weekend was! whoa you felt like the country was going to fall apart or something. Anyway at least this family hated the francophones so much they refused to acknowledge the french influence on Canada in any way. This wasn't the referendum that did this really but instead a long, brutal series of laws passed that were intended to preserve the Quebec culture (every sign in french etc) but ended up having a devastating effect on the economy there. Anyway I thought the english speaking Canadians hated the french. Ah well, I agree anyway the Parisians are rude to everyone, my real complaint with them is they are cowards. Sort of the complete opposite of the British who imo have more courage than anyone.
