<< I'm an European based in Austria but I am quite supportive of the US. campaign in Europe. >>

What is your opinion of the local Austrian news. Is it mostly pro or anti American?

<< There was no regime corrupt or brutal enough not to receive French support. Think about Idi Amin, Serbia of Milosevich, Zaire's Sese Seko and now Iraq. >>

I agree. The backstabbing French are not using the UN to uphold international law, they want to use the UN to further French interests, and to make America subservient to France, and it's corrupt partners. It won't happen!

<< Strictly speaking even Allied forces in WW2 were "violating" international law by declaring war on Hitler's brutal tyranny. >>

International law is only valid if it is backed by democratic nations, and who's purpose is the promotion of freedom and democracy. If international law does not promote freedom and democracy, then it will just be used as a tool of oppression.

<< Me seems France seems to have forgotton, who liberated them half a century ago. In dilusions of grandeur they are demanding standards from others they not even are willing to adher to themselves (look at Africa) >>

At one time, the French weren't the backstabbing, blood suckers that they are now. For instance, the huge Statue of Liberty came from France. At one time, France was appreciative that Americans sacrificed their lives and their limbs to liberate France, and to keep France free.

<< I would like to express my gratitude to the Americans for engaging in this campaign to rid the world of one of the most brutal dictatorships since Pol Pot. >>

Thanks. If Saddam was allowed to stay in power, and continue to develop WMDs, it could only get worse for his people, and for the world. Perhaps we've been able to stop him before his WMDs were truly "deliverable"?

<< Let me say THANK YOU for making this world a little safer for us CIVILIZED people to live on. >>

I'm sure that all CIVILIZED people appreciate your remark.

<< As an Austrian I have regarded the Franco-German team up (or more specifically the team up of centralistic France with leftwing-tilted governments inside the EU (no wonder they like those anti-american, centralized approach)) with great reservations. >>

This might turn out better for America. We are finding out that the EU has gone power crazy, and has little regard for freedom and democracy.

<< To add insult to injury, supporters of the US like me recently stopped to buy french goods like perfumes, champaign, cognac. Believe me Italy has the same quality of fine lifestyle products, even better vineries and Scotland certainly got the better booze to turn to (say single malts). >>

Thanks for the advice and info. I hope that we can all put a hurt on the backstabbing French economy.

<< It's more than time to show those Euro-whinies WHO is in charge and who not. >>

Good ending to a good note. Thanks for taking the time to write it. Lots of info and opinion. And...... of course, I really appreciated your support for America.
