I think you'd be bitching no matter how it went. Your theory of bungling might be fine if the UN outcome could have been predicted. But I well know that if it were predicted, and as a result Bush had acted last fall without seeking UN approval, you'd be bitching at him, wouldn't you? Why not admit it, it'll do your soul good.

Perfection is not always achieved and full UN backing had no chance with France, Russia and Germany near economic collapse within their own countries and the US trying to take out one of their major sources of money, Iraq.

Nothing was bungled. If handled differently it still may have ended the same way. There is a time for everything and right now is the time to take Iraq by force.

Will it cost us. Don't know...and you don't either. But I would rather go now than wait and see.
