From the CIA World Fact Book. cia.gov cia.gov cia.gov Mortality rates [2002 est.] Iraq: 6.02 deaths/1,000 US: 8.7 deaths/1,000 UK: 10.3 deaths/1,000 Or from People, Facts and Figures which uses the CIA World Fact Book for Jul 2000 os-connect.com Iraq: 6.40 deaths/1,000 US: 8.70 deaths/1,000 UK: 10.38 deaths/1,000 The mortality rate in the US is ~30% higher than it is in Iraq...if the US had the same mortality rate in 2002 that Iraq had, there would have been 750,000 fewer deaths in the US. If we waited another year before we attacked Iraq their mortality rate might have dropped below 6 deaths/1,000. Maybe Phillip Morris isn't doing well in Iraq. jttmab
