They've learned from experience to nail the chairs down real solid, but likely muzzling the fans would take out of it a certain je ne sais quoi -g- .... on cbc radio an hour ago one fellow had a piece on previous instances of anthem-booing, there have been many, several had nothing to do with international relations, the reasons were internal to the game of hockey, for instance one time O Canada was booed in New York, i missed exactly why but there were a number of cases going both ways ..... i'm not a sports fan in the sense of watching games on television, but have been to hockey games, the emotion displayed can be quite striking Also on radio this morning, a piece done in the Kelowna Royal Canadian Legion last night ... one vet who began his war at Dunkirk, he opposed the Bush II policy and was glad to see us taking an independent course ... i got the feeling that if they'd let him go on a bit he would be opposing the policy of Chrétien as well, but it was a short clip There are never only two sides to an issue, until some party forces the choice by arms .... if i were you John, i'd be just as uncomfortable as are we with so much power getting concentrated in so few Washington hands .... long-term it's not in your interests either
