We will be staying in Iraq for twenty years, bubba. Maybe even longer. So long as we need their oil. We've been in Germany and Japan for 50 years and Korea for 40. What makes Iraq any different?

<< We will defeat Saddam quickly, but we may stay for a while to ferret out the roaches. >>

I'd like to see a permanent American presence in Iraq, even after their democracy is flourishing. Democracy has too many foes in the world.

In order for democracy to succeed it has to be forever vigilant.
