The problem is that many people view him as the point man for the Democratic party. In the same way that Gingrich exploded in the Republicans face I think Daschel will explode in the Democrats face and hurt the party.

I don't think iraq is going to plan though. The US thought the regular army would refuse to fight. And the WMDs were supposed to be in plain view. This is completely different from the euphoria in the US after we struck in desert storm. No euphoria here, just the realization that this will be a bloody conflict with a people that don't want us there AT ALL. What a mess.
