OT Response to Webster who stated:

"Not really of consequence, regardless of whether you believed it or not, but nevertheless irritating in that it attempts to blame Chirac for everything, when in fact his international influence is quite limited."

Quite limited? As long as he has a veto in the UN Security Council your statement is at best - questionable in its accuracy! One can only wonder what would motivate such. Now a better question would be why in the world France deserves a permanent seat in the Security Council. The categorization of France and Germany as old Europe seems more and more accurate to me.

Webster - I read the article and agreed with it so strongly that I felt like sharing it with the BDBBR.

The French greed over world power and Iraqi oil prevented a united stand against Saddam that could have possibly helped avert this war. I dont think Americans will be forgetting France's betrayal of our relationship any time soon. Especially after today.
