Karen,

People who have experienced the loss of someone you deeply love can more easily relate to the reasons why our country should only go to war as the last possible option.

Why should we inflict that kind of pain on anyone? In that statement I include our own citizens and the citizens of our enemy's country. The Iraqis have feelings also and the majority of them are not soldiers.

I was opposed to the first Gulf War, the Vietnam war. I don't like wars, I don't like anyone being hurt.
Then tell me: How is worldwide eternal peace to be achieved? And you must start from the current state. And take in to account the emotions and natire of man.

Oh, and whatever results from your scheme must be democratic. No World Dictator with his boot on everyone's neck.

Karen, Saddam is a classic bully and he has made a government o hierarchical bullys. All levels rule those below with the fear of death or torture, all the way up to Saddam. Spain had one of those, USSR, sov blocs, the SHah of Iran, as well as Hitler.

We do not have this type of system, however Hitler, the Shah, sov blocs etc all call themselves democracies and they even have elections. The only problem is that in their country 99% vote and they all vote for the ruler.

So that means they are a lot more free than we are, since we vote around 60% or so compared to their 99%. Even Cuba, that little bastion of brave free men votes 99% for Castro.

I do not know how we can do it, but I do not want any more countries that vote 99% for 1 man. Countries like Cuba, N Korea, Iran etc.

How do we do this? By being so tough that no-one can attack us and by preventing anyone from building up to being equally tough if they are in that 99% vote group.
I do not mind true democracies with power. Dictarors I fear as they lack rational control.
