"extreme islamic fundamentalists thrive in an environment where the people are oppressed"

The result: 9/11 and a new breed of America haters graduating from Saudi schools every year. the Sauds NEED to reform, but so did Saddam. Greed and power are intoxicating.

There was a CNN news line this morning describing children in protest marches in Pakistan carrying OBL and Saddam pictures.

The key to Afghanistan is that we don't bail on it like we have other efforts in the past (ie afghanistan... <g>)

The EU is weak, but is attempting to gel into an economic powerhouse. The threat of that happening is more than the US has faced in the recent past.

If the Palestinians get a state and an economy, life in the middle east might calm down for a couple of years....

I agree with your point regarding Europe as well. Ultimately, the fact that France (and apparently Russia) have been supplying Iraq with weapons or components of weapons throughout the inspection process has permanently undermined the UN and lead to our activities in Iraq.

So, we find a big chemical weapons plant....we should drag Blix's fat ass down to Iraq to show him how to do an inspection.

I need to figure out the odds on whether we find supplies from France, Germany, Belgium or Russia.
