Our foreign policy has the goal of putting us in control of other countries by proxy. What makes it even worse is that it is based on the sentiment "I'd rather see 100 of them dead than one of us", which may make sense in combat, but is the wrong approach during peace.

Warren Buffet once said, "it is better to own a great company at a fair price than to buy a fair company at a great price". What we need in national policy is the equivalent of what Mr. B. does in stock market.
