Gloop, here are my 2 cents.

The macabre images of bodies of American soldiers broadcast in our living rooms is definitely a horrible sight to see. I can just imagine the pain felt by their loved ones. But it is no better than the images of dismembered Iraqi soldiers and civilians. Or, images of Rwandans being hacked with machetes. Or, images of victims crushed in earthquakes. None of these images is pleasant. I choose to look away as I do not need to be reminded of the realities of war. If you exclude one then you should exclude the others.

Just my opinion!

<I think you can show the truth without being tasteless to specific families.>.......I agree 100%

<You have concern for innocent families in the US don't you?>......I certainly do as well as to the families of "The Willing"

< Certainly the Soldiers families are innocent don't you?>......hmmmmm, don't know.

<So do you put your desire to see the ugly truth reported above the innocent families needs?>......Yes I do. Everybody should see the ugliness of the war & maybe we would learn from our errors

See, I knew this would happen, show people what war is about and suddenly they don't want it. It happened with Vietnam, although some of us didn't have to see fallen, bleeding screaming troops to know that war was wrong...It happened in Somalia...the public outcry after seeing our military dragged through the streets led to our withdrawal. When Americans see the truth, they want our boys and girls to come home. Which is why Rumsfeld doesn't want anyone to see this and got pissed at CBS. Unfortunately, however, we are stuck with this mistake, there is no turning back and it will get worse not just for Iraq, but for the United States. And this is what we DID NOT WANT, but many others did and now have.
