Hi Kerry,

I'm quite surprised that the military placed this soldier in this situation, --- That's a hard one.
Don't you think it could be a PR nightmare for the administration. American dream, Islam as a peaceful religion statements. How could US citizens ever hope to trust their Muslim neighbours with that message ? I guess it could be sold as compassion for the soldier but still it would be can of worms methinks.

regards
Kastel

Germans did it too. When the officers was a danger for their security, due to his inexperience, battle hardened men killed him to avoid get killed due to his misjudgement.

This appears not to be the case in Q8. It appears it was a random killing of soldiers, in this case I suspect a cover up of a terrorist attack.

Hi Kerry,

Thanks for the intelligent discussion of the "fragging" phenomenon. Unquestionably, we will never know the truth about the motivation of the soldier in Camp Pennsylvania.

This will be propagandized by the Bushies and the media to continue to demonize Muslims as a sinister foreign enemy.

Herman Goering knew all about this:

"Why of course the people don't want war. Why should some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece? Naturally the common people don't want war neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country."

So does Carl Rove.
