war is always ugly. Its not a game to see who the winner is, or to see who sufferred most. both sides suffer. so called success is shortlived

Well, not always. War is always brutal and destructive and costly, and often leads to inconclusive results. But when it wins, it wins big, in a way no other political solution can offer. E.g., our success in destroying the Third Reich was not shortlived.

That is why countries still go to war.

War is ugly for sure, fascinating too; and if history taught us one lesson, it's that once it's unavoidable, you'd better be the winner.
