Well, the British are refusing to go into Basra a city of 2 million mostly Shiites. IMHO those Shiites would uprise IF we went in. The problem is this: Saddams secret service and other THUGS are thick as thieves in that area and the people are likely still TOO FRIGHTENED to go revolt for fear of reprisals. If we CONTROLLED that city I have no reason NOT to believe the Shiites would be the same as the KURDS (who have their own region) and would revolt and be of assistance to us not to mention would stop the Iraqui's from constantly regrouping behind our lines. I still stand by my original comment. jdn
