Shorts Panic While Others Look to Dow 9000

Shorts are doing their panic thing again. Those who are short the S&P 100 index (OEX) are licking their wounds or bringing their calls in.

There are lots of people buying April calls to participate in the run to Dow 9000 if we take Baghdad this weekend. Still others are saying "You know what? These banks are cheap, they are raising numbers, and that's a good sign. I have to do some buying."

Still others are anticipating that there will be a wave of new money coming in now that the apparent uncertainty with Iraq might be behind us. I sympathize with those views and still think that the next stop is either Baghdad or Dow 9000.

Or both.
