Hi Doug, fine post. One thing that comes with age is experience. And while I often makes mistakes, sometimes the same ones, I note that the frequency is far less. I strongly agree that "very few players...year in and year out make substantial money in the market." I'd guess that it's somewhere in the 5-7% range, if that.

doug - have you ever read the book confessions of a stockbroker by brutus? written in 1972ish, it's sort of a reminiscences of a stock operator for the early 70s...but written from the other side of the coin.

i've hardly ever seen it recommended, but figure with your history, you've seen it - or if not, would find it interesting..
