Sounds like the Mother of All Buying Opportunities is coming our way. ;)

I took the liberty of posting the article at the Booms, Busts, and Recoveries thread, where it will definitely be appreciated.

Pentagon: Iraqi forces engaged in 'deadly deception'

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Pentagon officials lashed out Monday at the "deadly deception" of the Iraqi regime on the battlefield, saying that Iraqi troops are engaged in "serious violations of the laws of war" by falsely indicating their willingness to surrender or by fighting U.S. and allied troops in civilian clothes.

This is bizarre and surreal.

Precisely what did the Administration and the Pentagon expect?

Adherance to western rules of conduct?

Were Iraqis - entirely outgunned - actually expected to perish or surrender by US rules?

After a first phase, this war will quickly turn gorilla, and will remain gorilla for the duration of the occupation.

Ain't no rules to dying.

Re : Mr. Doomsayer / "Boomers and consumers will begin to save more money ..."

Last I heard ...

The amount of money currently in money market funds (certainly part of my definition of money that has been saved) ...

Is at some unprecedented HIGH level versus the market value of stocks right now.

This is totally inconsistent with this guys' thesis.

We shall see ...

Jon.
