Sharon's plan for the Palestinian State:

There are going to be 4 Palestinian areas, each completely surrounded by Israeli territory, with Jewish settlements separating them from each other and also from Arab nations:

1. Gaza: Israel is steadily razing Rafah, to separate Gaza from Egypt.
2. Hebron: Israeli colonization of E. Jerusalem, Maale Adummim, and the peri-Jericho settlements, drives a wedge east to the Jordan River, isolating the Hebron area.
3. Ramallah: the large Jewish settlement at Ariel, serves to separate Ramallah from Nablus.
4. Nablus: the Wall is apparently going to extend to Ariel, and also enclose the Jewish settlements along the Jordan River, thus totally encircling Nablus. Not satisfied with this, the Nablus area will be further fragmented, with Tulkarm and Qalqilah pinched off, encircled by their own Walls and checkpoints.

In addition, every Palestinian population center, has one or more Jewish settlements, embedded inside the city, or on the heights overlooking it.

South Africa, under apartheid, set up a series of Bantustans. These were called "independant nations", but they were tiny dispersed fragments of land, surrounded by White-Only territory, not viable economic/political units. After creating these "nations", the South African government declared that all blacks were citizens of one of these Bantustans, whether they lived in one or not, thus denying them any rights in South Africa, where whites would hold all power. What we see emerging in Israel, looks very similar.
